Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to know before my first session?
Please arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of your session. If it’s your first one, I will ask you to fill out a health form prior to the therapy. I also recommend you to be hydrated before we can start.
Do I need to bring anything specific?
Part of the session involves helping you understand your own body, so you might want to take notes of what we discuss before or after the session. You might also receive some exercises to do at home, so bringing a notepad with you might be a good idea. You can also write down notes using your cell phone, if you prefer.
Do I need to be undressed?
Massage therapy is better performed if I have access to the skin. During the session, you will be under the sheets at all times. The only area exposed will be the one being massaged. As you arrive, I’ll give you time and privacy to get undressed and to get under the massage bed sheets. If you prefer, you can leave your underwear on, but it is recommended without bra. Please feel free to ask me questions or to let me know beforehand if this step makes you uncomfortable.
Will it hurt?
As it is common with many sessions affecting the soft tissue, you might experience some light discomfort during or after the session. If it happens, just make sure you hydrate yourself. Note that this type of soreness is not harmful.
Can we talk during the session?
Even though chatting should be brought to a minimum, feel free to ask me questions or to give me feedback during your massage session.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you do, I ask you to contact me at least 24h in advance, so I can free up that time slot for another client. My cancellation policy involves charging 50% of the session if I am informed on a shorter notice.
What if I’m late for a session?
If you’re going to be late, please text me to let me know as soon as you can. If there are other clients booked after you, you might get a shorter session that time.
Can I get a receipt for my insurance?
Yes. After each session, I will give you a receipt from the Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes agréés (FQM), one of the most reputable massage therapy associations in Quebec. Don’t hesitate to ask me for one!
